Grandma’s Prize Winning Chocolate Cake with Pecan Cream Cheese Icing! (Heirloom Recipe)

This cake recipe needs to go viral! It is so moist and delicious! I baked it for 28 minutes and used coffee instead of water to just add a little oomph. Excellent! I will try the original suggested frosting next time; I used a chocolate frosting this time and it was awesome.


GRANDMA'S PRIZE WINNING CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH PECAN CREAM CHEESE ICING!




INGREDIENTS

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
¼ tsp salt
⅓ cup cocoa
¾ cup oil (the original recipe specifies Wesson oil which makes me think it's a Wesson oil recipe)
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs slightly beaten
icing
¼ cup butter or margarine
4oz. cream cheese
½ tsp vanilla
½ box powdered sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
